shwayze – buzzin (villains remix v2)

shwayze is malibu hip hop artist who just landed his own show with cisco (his producer) on a reality tv show named after his hit single “buzzin.” it’s basically the reality tv version of trailer park to top 40.

however, this post is about villain’s remix of the track. villains are two electro-house producers/djs from los angeles that have given credit for their re-work of michael jackson’s classic thriller, and their banging edit/bootleg remix of hot chip’s ‘ready for the floor.’ they have been described as “mastering the 80’s synth sound” around the blog-sphere, topped the hypemachine charts, and definitely stay on their grind in the studio.

this is the first time i’ve heard villains throw something out that i digged a ton. compared to their re-work/original production of michael jackson tracks and their remix edits, this one stands out a bit more. this is the first time i’ve heard them use portamento in their synth (a slide/glide effect from note-to-note). this banger is hard. how about we chop it down and pan it left and right, ‘bang bang baby hit me one time, h-h-hit me one time, h-h-hit me one time, come on.’

this track deserves 7 splendas.

Thony Ritz – “Rockin’ Feeling”

Thony Ritz – “Rockin’ Feeling”

Rather funny how you discover an artist that’s new to yourself nowadays; It use to be going down to a club, by association to other artists/djs, or word of mouth from friends. This guy actually caught me via Myspace friends request, and I’m glad this happened.

His technique of sampling is comparative to that of Pierre De La Touche, but is not as played out as Louis La Roche. This song in particular adds a level of energy to the now popular “Disco Summer Mix 2008″ by Jean Moustache; this style of French / Disco House still thrives, and I hope it doesn’t go anywhere for a while.

I tried to secure a copy of this song to stream from the man himself (because I haven’t found it from any other source; not even Beatport). Unfortunately, I still don’t have a copy, but he responded so quickly, and is incredibly nice.

8 Splendas for this hard hitting Disco cut!

fake blood is from mars, humans are from venus

fake blood – mars (original)

lol @ touche. he’s still my favorite theory of fake blood. fake blood is a london electro/club producer who’s been pumping out some of the hottest remixes. from the count and sinden’s beeper to little boot’s stuck on repeat. there are several theories that state that fake blood is boy-8-bit but iced passion tea’s theory is that he’s dj touche. i mean, he could be someone else but we’re nearly positive it’s him or has at least taught the real fake blood some production techniques. this track is my summer of 2008. last year’s summer was justice’s ‘we are your friends’.

enjoy it! analogue synths don’t get better than this.. but DIM’s ‘is you’ is pretty damn close! this one’s an original track that’s catchy, themed, contains a triplet lead synth melody, and a sick bassline.

moby likes electro house

klaas gerling

klaas gerling

guru josh project- infinity (klaas remix)

this german… never ceases to amaze me. i found out about this track when a few mutual friends came back rolling from edc (los angeles electric daisy carnival) and decided to show me a youtube video of moby’s dj set. to my surprise, a lot of the tracks he dropped were electro house.

klaas’ remixes definitely have a trance influence; it is similar to the trance vibe you hear in classixx’s tracks. the only difference is klaas works off of a really fat bassline that dominates the track and claims it as its own.

his production speaks for itself. easily one of my favorite producers. i give this track nine splendas. almost too much suga’?
