Thought this might be an eye-grabber!
Probably my first bootleg since I began producing as Cold Blank. It’s hard to find inspiration to remix bootlegs these days in a world with open arms to sampling; why remix a track when you can make your own bangers.
Anyway, I hope you dig this remix.
Black Eyed Peas – Boom Boom Pow (Mr Gaspar Remix)
By the way, I’m blogging on Blog The Fire now. So make sure to add that to your bookmarks!
]]>it’s been quite some time since we’ve done a post about crimewave now, hasn’t it? this morning i woke up to find two remixes sitting in my inbox. to my surprise, these are both fairly decent.
crystal castles – crimewave (kilowatt remix)
stream:
kilowatt is the alias of new york’s dj & promoter microprobes. he has sent in his take of crimewave with melodious synths and a strong distorted analog synth. however, although melodious, it tends to not go anywhere. i wouldn’t say this is the best crimewave remix out there because it definitely lacks variety. kilowatt’s got some production skills that will probably get lots of attention in the near future.
anyway, he will be hitting up genre, dance, avenue, and a few other locations this week. so all you los angeles kids, if you’ve got time, go check his set out. i might be hitting up dance tomorrow to check out his set. 5 splendas.

crystal castles – crimewave (cold blank remix remix)

this remix alongside the la riots one takes the cake. it’s simply dark, mysterious, melodious, and still maintains a strong club banger. listen for yourself!

crystal castles – crimewave (la riots remix)
download:
beautiful lyrics written by and originally by HEALTH. crystal castles released crimewave as a “vs” track but evidently was just a rework of the vocals. anyway, it’s a great track and now la riots have come back to IPT to add another one of their sugar-coated remixes to the table. it’s well produced and has a great hook but the portamentos and octave-quarter notes are so overdone by mstrkrft & la riots themselves. recall that kylie minogue wow remix by mstrkrft? or la riots take on hearts revolution’s switchblade?
nevertheless, this will get people on the dancefloor and gives this track a great dancefloor treatment; i believe la riots has more in them. six splendas for this club banger. where did you hear it first?

]]>Sneaky Sound System – Kansas (Sam La More Remix)
I’ll post the rest later. Hoping this could be useful for now!
]]>ryan riback – touch me on the dancefloor (souldiers of fortune remix)
today we’ve got a a remix of an amazing track by ryan riback. this remix is by souldiers of fortune, a duo of house producers from melbourne, victoria. to be honest, i’m not too fond of their french pop sound but i’ve dropped this on a few sets and it sounds bomb on the dancefloor. it seems like in their live sets, they collaborate with vocalists/musicians to add live energy to their tracks.
however the reason i posted this track on iced passion tea is because souldiers of fortune achieved a pretty decent take of a house version of this track. by house i mean domestic/classic/disco influenced with pads and melodic synths rather than low bitrate analogue synths.
four splendas.

]]>mowgli – club life
out the uk, todays post is about dj/producer/remixer mowgli. describing his track as “hard-swinged beats with crispy claps and phat-wobblin’ basses that drive you crazy,” is pretty right on the money. this track’s bassline is pretty sick and is sure to get the lower half of your body moving.
this style of production is very rad, but also a bit repetitive and simple. however, moving ‘genre’ aside, we should focus on the sweetness of this track (such as the dope drum sample in the intro).
five splendas.

]]>lovers electric – honey (sam la more remix)
sam la more is not only on the top of my radar, but has been dropping all these new remixes that i was not fully aware of. former member of tonite only, whom we’ve always been a fan of here at icp, sam dropped a remix of lovers electric. they are a pop duo from australia just like sam. honestly, the production is not only a sweet sip of tea but it does a great job complimenting the beautiful taste of eden boucher’s vocals.
this song gets you hypnotized and will have you playing it over and over. i have to say, australia knows how to work it. eight splendas!

]]>bugo – la mano mia (cecile & bloody beetroots vocal remix).mp3
before i start, the download format is going to only get easier here at iced passion tea. we will host the track on three servers — the stream (which will eventually be compressed a bit), and two file-sharing network hosts (mediafire/zshare) with a link so you don’t have to copy and paste.
anyway: damn! it’s weird/fresh to hear a track that’s not an electro banger these days (such as classixx’s remix of the ting ting’s ’shut up and let me go’). especially from electro remix superstars bloody beetroots. we hear their synths, organ-like synth pads, high pitched vocal, and clap aspects throughout the track. this could be a turning point in my opinion of the bloody beetroots proving they’ve got more class that i thought, or it could simply be the collaboration between themselves with cecile. regardless, this track is gold. personally, this is my favorite remix of theirs thus far. by the way, this track was released a bit ago but this vocal dub is fresh and clean.
eight splendas!

]]>lazrtag feat whiskey pete – the score
lazrtag, fresh out of los angeles, consists of dj luvtek and stellardrv. throwing out some of the most talked about remixes in the la club scene, this original track sets a new standard and shows off what they’re capable of. this track features a sort of processed horn which sounds like an acoustic french horn due to the frequency automation.

]]>shwayze – buzzin (villains remix v2)
shwayze is malibu hip hop artist who just landed his own show with cisco (his producer) on a reality tv show named after his hit single “buzzin.” it’s basically the reality tv version of trailer park to top 40.
however, this post is about villain’s remix of the track. villains are two electro-house producers/djs from los angeles that have given credit for their re-work of michael jackson’s classic thriller, and their banging edit/bootleg remix of hot chip’s ‘ready for the floor.’ they have been described as “mastering the 80’s synth sound” around the blog-sphere, topped the hypemachine charts, and definitely stay on their grind in the studio.
this is the first time i’ve heard villains throw something out that i digged a ton. compared to their re-work/original production of michael jackson tracks and their remix edits, this one stands out a bit more. this is the first time i’ve heard them use portamento in their synth (a slide/glide effect from note-to-note). this banger is hard. how about we chop it down and pan it left and right, ‘bang bang baby hit me one time, h-h-hit me one time, h-h-hit me one time, come on.’
this track deserves 7 splendas.
